CIL design capability extended with Scott appointment

CIL, the Whitchurch based contract design and manufacturing company, has appointed Gordon Scott as senior design engineer.

This appointment is a key part of CIL's expansion plans and will increase the company's capability in terms of providing a complete design and manufacturing service.

Gordon Scott has many years experience of board and system design in mixed signal environments and prior to moving to CIL was chief engineer at Multitone, the Basingstoke radio-paging systems company.

John Boston, managing director of CIL, said: "With the complexity of modern manufacturing equipment and processes, we are finding that working with a third party design company slows down manufacture and creates a problem when designs are updated and components become obsolescent.

Gordon's appointment and our on-going plans to strengthen this area means that we are able to take a project from an idea to final manufacture in the most efficient and cost-effective way."
