Barnwell to develop new business

Dr. Peter Barnwell has been appointed as Business Development Director at Custom Interconnect Ltd. (CIL), the Whitchurch, Hampshire based electronics contract design and manufacturing company.

Peter Barnwell brings a wealth of experience to the CIL team having had a long and successful career in the microelectronics packaging and contract electronics industry. He has a unique background combining design, manufacture, venture capital and business management and leadership.

Peter was one of the founders of CIL in 1986 and has been a non executive director for many years. For the past seven years he has worked in the industry in the USA, with a particular involvement in microwave technologies and was until November 2003 president of the International Microelectronics and Packaging Society (IMAPS) based in Washington DC.

Commenting on his new post, Peter said: "I am looking forward to this opportunity to take a more active role at CIL working with managing director, John Boston, and his excellent team. CIL has been one of the most successful companies in the contract manufacturing business and we are now looking to build on that success with significant development of the customer base and application areas of the business.
