CIL wins ELEKTRA Award "Manufacturer of the Year" 2024
The ELEKTRA Awards 2024 were presented at a Gala Dinner at the IET London, Savoy Place on Tuesday 10th December. The prestigious awards are a highlight in the electronics industry event calendar and was hosted by the comedian Emmanuel Sonubi.
Custom Interconnect Ltd were once again awarded ‘Manufacturer of the Year’ after being finalists every year for the last 8 years. CIL in the last 3 years has won this award twice 2022 & 2024 and been highly commended once 2023 and it is a testament to CIL dedication, investment and staff who are committed to UK manufacturing.
The “Manufacturer of the Year” Award is given to the company demonstrating the most impressive level of commercial success and new business projects in global markets over the previous twelve months. For CIL this involved growing its existing business by 25%, increasing its low carbon R&D projects from two to nine, increasing its engineering department from 8 persons to 44 persons and the opening of its new 64,000sq ft semiconductor packaging and power device manufacturing facility in Andover UK. Of the 24 new engineering positions filled, half were made up from new graduates looking for careers in the manufacturing of low carbon power electronics. Investment in state-of-the-art equipment to increase manufacturing output was £3.0M with a further £5.0M planned. Since submitting the nomination, CIL has seen further growth of over 40% as customers now approach CIL to work on future semiconductor packaging and power device/assembly solutions.
CIL would like to thank all of its customers, R & D project partners, employees, suppliers, shareholders and stakeholders as they are all playing a part in the success of CIL and UK manufacturing, and we look forward to their on-going support. CIL celebrates all of the other winners and finalists in the other categories.
This award comes on the back of CIL’s recent win earlier in November at the Electronics Industry Awards for “Excellence in Innovation” and is clear industry recognition of CIL leading the way in advanced PCBA, Semiconductor Packaging and Power Device solutions.
