Custom Interconnect Ltd wins both "Manufacturer of the Year" and "Manufacturing Innovation" 2020 Awards
CIL recently attended the "Made in the South East 2020" awards dinner, albeit a virtual event, so no black tie this time. This event celebrates manufacturing companies in the South East of England across all business types.
We are really happy to announce we won both the “Manufacturer of the Year 2020 (Under £25M)" and "Manufacturing Innovation Award 2020". The awards are a culmination of the work of CIL involved in UK Ventilator Challenge with OxVent Ltd, continuation of supply to existing customers and low carbon development projects APC15@FutureBEV, GaNSiC and others all during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The “Manufacturer of the Year Award 2020” was in recognition of CIL being involved in the UK Ventilator Challenge and assisting OxVent Ltd with their solution, which even today is being deployed to India and Africa. Being involved in the manufacture of Ventilator products deemed so critical, that Her Majesty’s helicopter was deployed to CIL to ship product, no doubt assisted our entry for the award. As well as the Ventilator Challenge, CIL found itself in a position whereby most of its existing customer demand held up throughout all of 2020 and despite the Covid-19 pandemic certain customers actually grew by 400% throughout the year.
The “Manufacturing Innovation Award” was for our work in the Automotive Hybrid & EV sector on projects such as APC15@FutureBEV, GaNSiC and others. We now go on to be shortlisted in the national event in both of these categories. This is the fourth year in a row that CIL has been shortlisted and won an award. In 2019 we won “Manufacturing Innovation Award”, 2018 we won “Manufacturer of the year” and in 2017 we won the “Manufacturing Innovation Award” for our work on medical electronics and this year both. These awards and the previous three awards are for all the hard work and dedication from every member of the CIL staff, well done all.
